A few weeks ago I had the honor of photographing this adorable set of baby boy and girl twins. I was extra excited because I knew this family. I had photographed their daughter's baby just a year ago. You may have heard this from me before, but my favorite kind of client is a repeat client. The greatest compliment I can get on my artistry is when a family comes back. That means that they loved the experience so much they want to do it again. As an artist, I work hard to create timeless image that family’s will cherish for a lifetime but I also want to make sure that my clients have the best experience ever. Positive feedback, reviews, and referrals are all ways that tell me I’m doing a good job, but when a family comes back again, to me that’s the ultimate compliment!
Tommy and Savvy’s mommy had scheduled their newborn session while she was anxiously awaiting their arrival. We had planned to do the session within their first few weeks of life however, these two had a plan of their own. They decided to make their way into this world pretty early and ended up spending a good amount of time in the NICU. They were just shy of 11 weeks old when they came in for their session.
Photographing multiples is a little trickier than photographing a single baby. It can be challenging to get two babies to pose and sleep at the same time. I however, love this challenge. I absolutely adore photographing twins. I love to capture the interaction and bonds that twins share. Even as newborns, twins instinctively reach for each other and settle so much better together than when they are parted. Older newborns can be a lot harder to transition betweens sleeping poses and now their were two of them. These two did not let me down. Sure they had moments of unrest, and they certainly took turns being the sleepy one and the one peeking up at me, but once I snuggled them together they naturally settled.
